large irregular vase

large irregular vase

h 34cm

a unique vase that could be mistaken for
a korean yi-dynasty pot.
it has a total lack of symmetry.
looks different from every angle.
itīs glazed with another glaze than my usual
recipe, this one having a very high reed ash content.
itīs come out exceptionally nice on this piece, with
a wonderful display of cloudy drops.
this pot is also made in three sections, with two
large hemispheral parts joined in a balloon-like
shape and the rim thrown directly on top.
in this case the shape is not the canvas for
anything, it has its own story to tell
